Operator customization guide
Customization covers both identity and battlefield role. Hawks has extensive visual and mechanical options, while Custom Operators let the roster fill specific gaps.

Hawks is your authored commander
EA confirms that Hawks can be customized across name, gender presentation, species, appearance, clothing, and specialization. The commander remains the same story role even when the visual identity and battlefield job change.
Visual customization is layered
Hands-on footage shows separate headwear, body, arm, lower-body, and color choices, including detailed clone-inspired armor combinations. Treat exact launch inventory counts as versioned data until verified in the live build.
Custom Operators are mechanical tools
Recruitment candidates can be shaped through background, appearance, species, talent, weapon, and standard specialization choices. Use them to cover a missing squad job or to support a themed roster such as a clone-focused company.
Authored identity and standard roles are separate
Named companions retain authored backgrounds and distinctive features even when many of their standard specialization choices can change. Unique roles and story identity should not be treated as interchangeable cosmetic skins.
