Trick / CT-3301 build guide
Durable front-line anchor who draws attacks, retaliates, and still contributes Soldier area damage.

NameTrick / CT-3301
SpeciesHuman clone
Recommended buildHeavy first, then Soldier
WeaponRepeater for cover pressure; Pistol is the control alternative
Quick build
- Specializations: Heavy first, then Soldier.
- Weapon: Repeater for cover pressure; Pistol is the control alternative.
- Utility: A healing item for self-sufficiency or a grenade when the mission rewards area damage.
Unique talent
For My Brothers lets Trick survive one downing and automatically return on the next turn. Upgrades improve the recovery and his resistance to Injury.
Upgrade priority
- Build Heavy durability first: Conditioning, Unstoppable, and Bulwark make his unique recovery a reserve rather than the plan.
- Keep Rocket Strike and the Soldier damage tools for clustered targets after the defensive core is online.
- On permadeath runs, upgrade For My Brothers through its no-Injury recovery before spending on marginal damage.
Turn plan
- Move Trick into a central position that protects the back line without abandoning cover.
- Use Bulwark on the enemies most likely to reach a fragile ally, then add Unstoppable before they act.
- Spend the remaining AP on a Repeater shot to damage cover or a priority target.
- Do not trade Trick's recovery for avoidable damage; preserve it for a failed hit roll or an objective push.
Squad pairings and Bonds
- Hawks as Medic/Scout supplies healing, Advantage, and the occasional extra AP.
- Luco or Jae can operate safely while Trick draws enemy pressure away from them.
- Health and defense Bond rewards reinforce the tank role; accuracy remains useful when Trick carries a Repeater.
Alternative build and limits
When the DC-17M unlocks, reassess the loadout: its anti-armor, longarm, and repeater modes replace a normal modded weapon. Heavy/Scoundrel trades some area damage for focus-fire support before that point.
Operator profile
A clone soldier who served with Hawks and remains one of the company's named story companions.
Trick gives the early squad a direct Republic connection and a flexible combat foundation.
